What type of medical care/vetting has the pet received?
At a minimum, dogs should have received age-appropriate vaccinations, a heartworm test, fecal test and/or deworming and spay or neuter surgery. Some organizations also microchip their pets and provide other basic medical care such as dental exams and flea and tick preventative.
“How can I meet the sheltered pets?”
By appointment. Also occasionally shown at a local PetSmart’s and Petco’s in the McAllen Area.
“What are basic requirements to adopt a pet?”
1.) Have to be indoor house dogs
2.) Home Inspection required
3.) Dogs are expected to be kept on a heart worm preventative.
"Why is there an adoption fee?”
The adoption fee covers the medical expenses. Examples are heart worm disease, tick disease, vaccines etc. Since most of the funding comes from personal funding, the adoption fee helps in providing animals with food and expenses that animals have.
"How do I adopt?"
Application, once approved, home visit will be conducted an adoption fee of $25-$150, and contract. Adoption fee is lightly higher for dogs with cropped ears. Please text or e-mail for an appointment.
“Are donations welcomed?”
Of course since Dr. Do-little’s Rescue Ranch is a self-fund private organization, donations will be a great help to give a wonderful home for all of the pets we take care of.
